Dasmen Residential Lawsuit

Lawsuit

Dasmen Residential, LLC is a property management company based in Suffern, New York. In 2019, a class action lawsuit was filed against Dasmen Residential alleging that the company had failed to properly maintain its apartment complexes, resulting in hazardous conditions for tenants. The plaintiffs alleged that the apartments had mold, water damage, insect and rodent infestations, and other safety hazards. They also alleged that Dasmen Residential had failed to provide adequate security for its tenants.

The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The plaintiffs sought to represent a class of all current and former tenants of Dasmen Residential properties in Louisiana.

The case is still ongoing. In January 2023, the court denied a motion for summary judgment filed by Dasmen Residential. The court found that there were genuine issues of material fact regarding whether Dasmen Residential had breached its lease agreements with its tenants and whether its negligence had caused the plaintiffs’ injuries.

The case is currently scheduled for trial in January 2024.

In addition to the class action lawsuit in Louisiana, Dasmen Residential has also been the subject of numerous complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. The complaints allege a variety of issues, including poor maintenance, inadequate security, and difficulty getting in touch with customer service.

Dasmen Residential has denied the allegations made in the lawsuit and in the BBB complaints. The company has stated that it is committed to providing its tenants with safe and well-maintained housing.
